Joel de la Cruz
My real education started only after I graduated from University of Western Sydney (UWS), back in 2001. I replaced my Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) textbook for real life practical books which planted fruitful seeds in my ever so fertile mind.
After I graduated, I thought to myself, “what else is there?’. Do I now continue to do the same thing, day in – day out? Friday, I’m happy along with my workmates and then see unimpressed faces on a Monday morning? Friday comes around again, then Monday again. Repeating the unending cynical cycle, to which I refer to as the Rat Race!
One day in 2002, the UWS invited me to do their Honours post-grad course. I attended their “Meet the Dean” evening session at the University, after work. One important lesson a mentor taught me was that if I were to continue following in the footstep of a particular person, I will eventually end up looking, sounding, smelling, talking, walking and aging like that person. So I thought, “NO WAY”. Despite having credentials such as Bachelors and Masters degree, I rather not spend the rest of my precious life hunch over an unergonomic chair and table, seating in front of a computer for the rest of my life, handing reports to the ‘Suits’. And for what? A monthly pay?!?!? I took the ‘zero’ on the Honours program.
This was the pivotal point in my life. I DECIDED to take up a Masters degree instead, which I’ve called Master of My Life. I planned what I want my life to look and feel like, then I reverse-engineered the life of other Masters. I discovered their secrets, their strategies and common goals. I planned my work and worked my plan.
I set myself a defined goal, set a date in which to achieve that goal. I presented my intention to others (family and friends) and to the universe.
The path was not quick nor easy. It took me two and a half years and in December 2004, I handed in my resignation and left the workforce for good.
Wealthy Perceptions is about my life after I made that decision, which changed my life. I am happy and grateful to God and to the universe for what I have today; by that I mean, not my earthly possession, but rather my Mindset.
Mentor and Coach
Most of the great masters and mentors have stated very clearly in their own personal mission, that this two things must be in their plans; give it back and pay it forward.
One way for me to ‘give it back’ is through my charity work, and one of the ways for me to pay it forward, is through bringing my awareness to other people.
Through this website I can help other people achieve their goals and objectives.
One important notes I want readers to know, this website is not about making money. This website is promoting one’s Mindset to achieve things beyond their ego and beyond the voice in their heads which limits them. Money is only the residual effect of that betterment.
I’m excited for those of you who subscribe to this website, which then I’m happy to call “Our Website”. You will receive some very important, powerful and free ideas and strategies which can help promote your own Mindset (note this doesn’t mean yours will be similar to mine, you will make and travel your own path) and we can both find joy in traveling our respective paths together, with others of like-mindedness.
